The interdisciplinary field of neuroscience integrates psychology, psychiatry, biology, chemistry, physics, kinesiology, veterinary sciences and medicine. Students receive instruction from faculty from multiple departments, in collaboration with Neuroscience and Experimental Therapeutics (NEXT) in this degree, as well as the Texas A&M Institute for Neuroscience.
Graduates are equipped for graduate study, as well as to enter entry-level healthcare and technical occupations. The core courses for this degree include a foundation in the life sciences, and a foundational sequence in neuroscience that will prepare students for more advanced courses. The concentration of this degree is administered by faculty from the School of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, in collaboration with the Department of Neuroscience and Experimental Therapeutics in the School of Medicine, and courses focus on biomedical, translational and preclinical neuroscience.
