Students who wish to change into Physics after beginning at Texas A&M in another major must satisfy the following requirements:
- Must have at least a 3.0 GPA at the time of application. Students with a TAMU GPA of 2.5-2.99 will be considered on a case-by-case basis via the waiver request in Howdy's change of major application.
- Must complete at least one physics course on PHYS degree plan in residence at TAMU, and the TAMU math/physics GPA for all math/physics classes must be at least 3.0. Grades for all attempts of these physics and math courses are included in this calculation. Students with a TAMU math/physics GPA of 2.5-2.99 will be considered on a case-by-case basis via the waiver request in Howdy's change of major application.
- No D's or F’s in proposed major’s courses, unless student has retaken courses and earned a C or better
- A clean academic history (no cases of scholastic dishonesty)
- Fewer than 90 credit hours completed after high school graduation
