Clarissa and Anthony L. Garcia ’90 of Spring, Texas, will establish an endowed scholarship through a living trust to create the Garcia Endowed Scholarship in Arts and Sciences. This undergraduate scholarship will give preference to a student who is pursuing a degree in psychology or biology.

Anthony earned a degree in biology from Texas A&M while also participating in the service fraternity Alpha Phi Omega. In 1996, he earned a Master of Business Administration from Our Lady of the Lake in San Antonio.

The next year, he moved into administrative work with the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Texas Health Science Center’s Medical School. In 2011, he was named the department’s assistant director of management operations for the McGovern Medical School, which is part of UT Health in Houston, and was later promoted to director of management operations in 2015.

The Garcias will also use the trust to create a second Texas A&M scholarship, the Garcia Family Endowed Scholarship in Engineering, which will support undergraduate students who are pursuing their studies in the College of Engineering.

The Garcias have two sons, both of whom are Aggies. Aaron Garcia ’18 graduated from Texas A&M with a degree in mechanical engineering while Adam C. Garcia ’20 earned a degree in psychology with a certificate in health development.
